Remove Gas Tank on Honda Rebel 250
First I removed the passenger and the main seat. Described here:

Then I disconnected the fuel line from the petcock ...
After disconnecting the fuel line from petcock I used a spare fuel line (1/4" fuel hose) to drain the the tank in to a gas container.
Once the tank was empty (it took at least 10 minutes to drain all the gas via the 1/4" line), I removed the rear bolt that attaches the tank to the frame ...
and then proceeded to remove the front, right and left bolts.
With all 3 bolts removed I carefully lifted the tank and disconnected the the gas overflow hose. Below is the picture of what the bottom of the gas tank looks like with overflow hose attached..
Close up pic of where the overflow hoe is attached to the bottom of the gas tank.
With hose disconnected, I could lift the tank and place it aside.
